Cancellations due to inclement weather

Please be sure to call ahead or contact a coach or sponsor before traveling to a scheduled event or activitiy. We will continue to update this list of cancelled events and activities throughout the day.

Madison County Schools will be closed Friday, March 6.

Honors Science Placement Test

8th grade students that are interested in taking Honors ESPS (Science) next year at Madison Central H.S. will need to take a pretest.  The pretest will be offered at Madison Middle School on Thursday, April 16th at 9:45 am in the school cafeteria. Students who have not picked up a study guide for the test, should see Ms. Saylor in the Guidance Office as soon as possible. 

School will be in session March 20

Madison County Schools will use the previously scheduled March 20 professional development day as a make-up day. To date, the district has cancelled school seven days for inclement weather. Pending Board approval, students last day of classes for the 2014-2015 school year will be Thursday, May 28. Memorial Day (May 25) will remain a holiday.

Workshop for Children/Teen Anxiety
Madison County's middle school Guidance Counselors are collaborating with Our Lady of Peace to host a workshop for dealing with anxiety on Monday, March 16, 2015: 6:30p.m. - 7:30p.m. at Madison County Extension Office at 230 Duncannon Lane Richmond, KY 40475.  See flyer below for more information.

Wrestlers to represent MCS at State Competition

Madison County Schools will be well represented at the state wrestling competition this year. Congratulations and Best Wishes to Sam Kauer, Justus Williams, and Joey Scribano from Madison Southern High; and Jonathon Gadd, Ryan McManus, Chris Morrow, Will Keeney, Aaron Flenner, and Corban Couch from Madison Central High.

February Board Meeting Notes

Tony Thomas, architect with Clotfelter-Samokar Architects, presented the preliminary renderings for the renovations at Foley Middle and Silver Creek Elementary schools at Thursday’s regular Board of Education meeting. The renderings are part of the first stages for planning and development for the renovation projects that will begin at Foley and Silver Creek in the fall.

KEES Money for College

8th grade students and parents:  How can you earn KEES money in high school?  You can earn money for college by earning a 2.5 or higher GPA in your high school classes and scoring a 15 or above on your ACT.  Amounts vary depending on your GPA and ACT scores.  Find out more information by visiting
