My School: Kit Carson Elementary

Fifth grade students at Kit Carson Elementary School recently honored local veterans at our annual Veterans Day program. To prepare, students practiced singing patriotic songs in music, prepared to deliver speeches in language arts class, decorated stars in art and social studies, and wrote cards of thanks to veterans. During the program, students delivered speeches about the history of Veterans Day and sang patriotic songs. One student, Isaiah, accompanied some of the songs on his drum, while KC Handchimes played an Armed Forces Medley and God Bless America.
