Special SBDM Meeting - Wednesday June 1

The Madison Southern High School Site-Based Desicion Madison Council will hold a special meeting at 10:30 a.m. on June 1 for the purpose of personnel recommendations. 

White Hall Elementary Archery Team: 2016 National Champs

May 12-14, the 2016 NASP National Archery Tournment was held in Louisville, Kentucky.  White Hall Elementary School Archery Team, made history at this event.  This was the first Madison County School to bring home the national trophy. Archers from 909 schools in 41 states and Washington D.C. competed at the largest archery tournments.  

 

Lady Eagles Skill Camp

The Lady Eagles Basketball team is putting on summer youth skills clinics for girls grades 1st through 5th who attend Shannon Johnson, Silver Creek, Kingston, and Kirksville in July.  Cost is $5 per day. See flyer for details. 

This is intended to foster the development of basketball skills for young girls in our area. Please spread or forward the flyer to all the 1st through 5th grade girls you know who are interested before school is out!

Middle School Theatre Camp at MSHS

Madison Southern Eagle Players are offering a 1 week middle school theatre camp on June 6 - 10 from 9 am to 3 pm with a performance on June 10th at 4 p.m.   The camp is open to all Madison County Middle School Students. .  Cost for participatns is $15 and a t-shirt and luch are includes in the registration fee.  Click here to access the registration form.

Vivian Bowles Named KGHS Teacher of the Year

More than 200 students from across the state attended the event where Vivian Bowles, teacher at Kit Carson Elementary School, was named KGHS Teacher of Year.

MSHS Volleyball Camp

Madison Southern will be hosting a Volleyball Camp on June 13th & 14th

Two MCS students to attend Craft Academy at Morehead State

Two Madison County Schools rising juniors have been selected to attend the Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics for the remainder of their high school careers. Congratulations to Madison Central's Stefan Kwiecinski and Madison Southern's Abigail Williams!

Summer Opportunities for Kids

As summer is quickly approaching, the district has created a page on its website for Summer Opportunities for Kids. This page includes everything from programming at the Madison County Public Library to baseball camps at Madison Central to weekly camps at St. Mark School to vacation bible schools. MSHS receives bronze award for college readiness

MCS adds two names to list of NBCT in district

Madison County Schools would like to congratulate Tonya Conley of Kingston Elementary and Lauren Cain of White Hall Elementary on earning their National Board certification. Earning National Board certification is a lengthy, rigorous process, and requires a great deal of dedication to the teaching profession.

FMS teacher receives PBS Innovation Grant

Melissa Metcalf, science and math teacher at Foley Middle School, has been named a 2016 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator. Metcalf is among a diverse group of tech-savvy educators from across the country selected for her passion and commitment to innovative teaching practices that integrate digital media and technology in the classroom.
