Summer Opportunities for Kids

As summer is quickly approaching, the district has created a page on its website for Summer Opportunities for Kids. This page includes everything from programming at the Madison County Public Library to baseball camps at Madison Central to weekly camps at St. Mark School to vacation bible schools. Please feel free to send any information about summer programs for kids to Erin Stewart. Thank you.

Mike Reister Selected as Next CM Principal

Congrautlations to Mr. Mike Reister for being selected as the next principal for Clark-Moores Middle School.  Mr. Reister started his teaching career at CM in 1993.  He has taught both social studies and language arts at various grade levels.  Through the years he has also served as the athletic director, and coached both girls and boys basketball, softball, track, and football.  For the past three years he has served as the assistant principal for the school.  Mr. Reister is married to Becky Reister, who teaches math at Kirksville Elementary, and has three children.  He is a great assett to the school and both students and teachers are excited to have him lead them into the future.

SBDM Parent Elections

Clark-Moores is currently accepting nominations for parent representatives to serve on the 2016-2017 SBDM Council.  Nomination forms may be picked up at your child’s current school, the CMMS lobby, or by clicking here.  Nomination forms will be in the CMMS lobby starting Monday, April 25th  until Tuesday, May 3rd,  from 7:30am to 3pm. 

Elections and Voting will take place on Wednesday May 4th from 7:30am until 3pm, and Thursday, May 5th from 7:30am to 8:00pm at CMMS.  Please contact Michele Ungaro at CMMS if you have any questions.

 

 

Spring Football Practices

Football practices will be held from 3:15-4:45 April 18, 19, 21, 25, 26, 28. and May 2, 3, 5 at Clark-Moores Middle School.  Students must be piced up by 5:00, no exceptions.  If your child cannot be picked up by this time do not send him/her to practice.  A current KHSAA physical is required to participate in practice.  

Board of Education approves 2016-2017 school year calendar

The Madison County Board of Education approved the school year calendar for the 2016-2017 school year at tonight's regular meeting. Click HERE to view the calendar.

Dates set for 2016 graduations

The Board of Education has set the graduation dates and times for both high schools. Madison Southern High School's graduation will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 20. Madison Central High School's graduation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21. Both graduations will take place at Eastern Kentucky University's Alumni Coliseum.

MCS adds two names to list of NBCT in district

Madison County Schools would like to congratulate Tonya Conley of Kingston Elementary and Lauren Cain of White Hall Elementary on earning their National Board certification. Earning National Board certification is a lengthy, rigorous process, and requires a great deal of dedication to the teaching profession.

FMS teacher receives PBS Innovation Grant

Melissa Metcalf, science and math teacher at Foley Middle School, has been named a 2016 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator. Metcalf is among a diverse group of tech-savvy educators from across the country selected for her passion and commitment to innovative teaching practices that integrate digital media and technology in the classroom.

MCHS hosting DanceBlue mini marathon

Madison Central High School will be hosting its first DanceBlue Mini Marathon April 30. DanceBlue is an organization sponsored by the University of Kentucky that raises money for pediatric cancer research.
