Summer Opportunities for Kids

As summer is quickly approaching, the district has created a page on its website for Summer Opportunities for Kids. This page includes everything from programming at the Madison County Public Library to baseball camps at Madison Central to weekly camps at St. Mark School to vacation bible schools. MSHS receives bronze award for college readiness

Madison Southern High School has been nationally recognized by US News and World Report, receiving a Bronze ranking for its College Readiness Index. Click HERE for more information.

MSHS bass fishing team has three boats qualify for state tourney

Madison Southern High School had 3 boats qualify for the State High School Bass Fishing Tournament to be held May 12-14 at Kentucky Lake. They were the only team from this region to have multiple boats to qualify for the state tournament.

MSHS Greenhouse Spring Sales

The Madison Southern Greenhouse will be open to the public on Saturday 4/30 and will be open from 9-5.  Greenhouse will continue to be open that following week in the afternoons from 3-5.  Click Here for and Inventory of Prices.  Contact Kevin Anderson for more details.

Family Fun Night - May 13th

Madison Southern will be sponsoring a Family Fun Night on May 13th from 6 - 8 p.m.   It is a huge, county-wide celebration for our special needs students.  Come out and join the fun.    Click here for more information.

MSHS Kids Summer Basketball Camp

The 2016 Kids Summer Basketball Camp for Boys and Girls Grades 1 -8 will be June 1 - 2 from 9:00 - 12:00.   Click Here to access registration form.   Cost is $30 per player.

SBDM Parent Elections

The parent SBDM elections will be held on May 12 from 8:00 – 3:00 p.m. .Nominations will be excepted from May 2 - May 6.  All nominations can be turned into Pat Brock in the MSHS Main Office during that time.  Any parent nominated must have student attending Madison Southern during the 2016-17 school year and can not be a relative of a Madison Southern faculty member.

Board of Education approves 2016-2017 school year calendar

The Madison County Board of Education approved the school year calendar for the 2016-2017 school year at tonight's regular meeting. Click HERE to view the calendar.


Prom is just around the corner….. Students may purchase prom tickets beginning April 25 in the library. All tickets are $40 each. Students must have less than 6 unexcused absences, have no outstanding fees, fines, cafeteria charges, etc., in order to purchase a Prom ticket.

Dates set for 2016 graduations

The Board of Education has set the graduation dates and times for both high schools. Madison Southern High School's graduation will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 20. Madison Central High School's graduation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21. Both graduations will take place at Eastern Kentucky University's Alumni Coliseum.

MCS adds two names to list of NBCT in district

Madison County Schools would like to congratulate Tonya Conley of Kingston Elementary and Lauren Cain of White Hall Elementary on earning their National Board certification. Earning National Board certification is a lengthy, rigorous process, and requires a great deal of dedication to the teaching profession.

FMS teacher receives PBS Innovation Grant

Melissa Metcalf, science and math teacher at Foley Middle School, has been named a 2016 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator. Metcalf is among a diverse group of tech-savvy educators from across the country selected for her passion and commitment to innovative teaching practices that integrate digital media and technology in the classroom.
