VolunTeen Summer Program

Are you interest in pursuing a degree in healthcare?  Do you enjoy volunteering your time to help others?  If so, you can apply to be a Volunteen at Baptist Health Richmond and have the opportunity to learn heathcare practices in the Same Day Surgery, ICU/CCU, Medical/Surgical Nursing floor, Radiology, or our Women's Care Center.  Apply online at https://www.baptisthealthkentucky.com/richmondvolunteer/  Applications are accepted March 1 - April 20.  Applicates but be 14 - 18 years old to apply. 

 

State STLP Winner in Computer Science

Katie Grimes, a senior, at Madison Southern High School, earned First Place in the high school division of the University of Kentucky Computer Science Competition at the State STLP Championship held on March 26, 2015 in Lexington Kentucky.

Board approves calendar for 2014-2015 end of school

The Madison County Board of Education voted to approve the final calendar for the 2014-2015 school year. The last day of school for students will be Monday, June 1, 2015. Graduation dates were also set by the Board. Madison Central High School graduates will have their ceremony on Friday, May 29. Madison Southern High School graduates will have their ceremony on Saturday, May 30. Both ceremonies will be held at Eastern Kentucky University's Alumni Coliseum. The times for those ceremonies will be announced soon.

MSHS is planning a trip to Europe for the summer of 2016.  You can contact Angie Alexander at Southern for more details.  If you join the trip and pay a deposit before May 31, you will be entered for a chance to win your trip for free from the tour company!!! Farristown teacher pens book, official release March 10

Congratulations to Farristown Middle School 7th grade World Civilization Teacher Daniel Bryant. Mr. Bryant has written a young adult science fiction novel titled Zan's Quest that will be released nationwide on Tuesday, March 10. This is the first in a series of books known as the Chandrian Chronicles.

Wrestlers to represent MCS at State Competition

Madison County Schools will be well represented at the state wrestling competition this year. Congratulations and Best Wishes to Sam Kauer, Justus Williams, and Joey Scribano from Madison Southern High; and Jonathon Gadd, Ryan McManus, Chris Morrow, Will Keeney, Aaron Flenner, and Corban Couch from Madison Central High.

Before and After School Algebra Tutoring Available

PartnerCorps STEM algebra tutoring will be available starting Monday, September 22, before school (starting at 7:30) and after school from 3-4 p.m.
