In the 2014 Session of the Kentucky General Assembly, Senate Bill 20, which was a combined initiative between the House of Representatives and the Senate, was passed to bring attention to the harmful and sometimes devastating consequences of bullying, especially in our schools.  KY State Representative Rita H Smart was the proud sponsor of this bill.

MCHS Swim Team Meeting

Recycle Ink Cartridges to Help MCHS STLP

Do you own a printer and throw away your ink cartridges? Now there is a better solution. Bring your empty ink cartridges to Madison Central High School and help out the STLP Club. By doing this you will get a chance to recycle your ink cartridges and will be doing a well appreciated favor by helping the STLP Club raise money for new robotics kits. It doesn’t cost anything to donate your ink cartridges but will help the STLP immensely. Thank you for helping us out!

See You at the Pole

MCHS First Priority is hosting its annual "See You at the Pole" prayer event next Wednesday, September 24th morning at 7:30 AM on the MCHS football field 50 yard line.  Come early...program starts promptly at 7:30 AM!


The Madison Central school council minority parent nomination period ended on Friday. There was one parent who was nominated, Joanne Simpson. As the sole nominee, Mrs. Simpson has accepted the nomination and will serve in the capacity of minority parent representative on Madison Central’s school council during the 2014-2015 academic year. Please join the SBDM in thanking Mrs. Simpson for her service in this capacity.

Homecoming Candidate Meetings

There will be two important meetings for top 20 homecoming king candidates & top 20 queen candidates.  Both meetings will occur in the MCHS library at 7:45 AM.  Meeting dates are:

  • Wednesday, September 17
  • Tuesday, September 23
2015 Governor's Scholars Program Meeting

Any junior interested in applying for the 2015 Governor’s Scholars Program needs to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 7:30 am in the Lecture Hall.  Interested students should also make plans to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 8:05 in the library.  The cost is $20 and may be paid in the Finance Office at any time. 

Cardinal Hill Teen Board Opportunity-Deadline Extended

Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital would like to invite juniors and seniors from Madison Central High School to join the Cardinal Hill Teen Board.  The Teen Board is an opportunity for area teenagers to become more involved with the rehabilitation hospital, clients with disabilities, and services available to the community.  The deadline has been extended to Friday, September 19, 5:00 PM.

Voter Registration at MCHS

The Democratic Women’s Group & GOP Republican Ladies will be in the MCHS cafeteria from Monday - Wednesday, September 22-24 to register eligible voters during lunch.

EKU Representative at MCHS

A representative from EKU will be in the MCHS cafeteria on several different dates to meet with interested students during lunch.  Dates include September 9, October 7, November 18, December 2.

Conversation in the Kitchen

Conversation in the Kitchen is a Lexington driven event to promote conversations and relationship enrichment within teenager’s families across Central Kentucky.
This one-night event, on February 28, 2015, at Fasig-Tipton Farm, has several behind-the-scenes activities leading up to the 2015 Conversation in the Kitchen grand finale, hosting 300+ people across Central Kentucky. We will provide an evening of entertainment to include a cooking contest between teenage finalists from Central Kentucky public middle and high schools, whose winning essays qualify them to enter the middle or high school cooking contests.

2015 Youth Salute

The Central Kentucky Council on Youth leadership is accepting applications for the 2015 Youth Salute.  To qualify, you must be a high school junior, have a cumulative 3.0 GPA and have held two leadership roles.  Pick up your applications in the guidance office and return them to Mrs. Tipton no later than October 3.
