MCHS Parent University

MCHS will host Parent University on February 3, 2015 from 5:30-7:30 in the MCHS Lecture Hall.  Come learn about the Dual Credit Program presented by Christie Bogie from EKU. Also, come meet our College Coach, Liz Neille and hear what resources she has available for you and your students. 

MCHS Prom Fashion Show

The Madison Central Prom Fashion Show will be Friday, February 20, at 1:00 PM in the MCHS auditorium.  Tickets will be sold during lunch  February 2-6 and February 9-13. Student tickets are $5 and must be purchased in advance. No student tickets will be sold at the door.  Parents are welcome and may buy tickets before or at the door on February 20.

All-Expense-Paid Trip to Washington DC

Clark Energy is awarding 4 all-expense-paid trips to Washington DC.  Details & applications are available in the MCHS guidance office.  Deadline for applying is March 20, 2015, 3:00 PM.

Project Graduation Event

Madison County students and their families are invited to attend a Valentines Roller Skating Party. This fundraiser will benefit MCHS Class of 2015 Project Graduation. We are raising the money so that our graduating seniors will have a safe and fun Graduation night.  Click here for details.

ATTENTION: Parents of Current 8th Graders

Attention Parents of Current 8th Graders:  Parents and students of the Class of 2019 are invited to an informational meeting to discuss transition and scheduling of high school courses for the 2015-16 year.  The meeting will be on Thursday, February 5th starting at 6:00 p.m. in the MCHS Auditorium.  Beginning at 5:30 representatives from various MCHS clubs and organizations will be in Health Building lobby to provide information on student involvement in school activities.  The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Assistant Principal, Laura Dedic and Counselor, Nicki Tipton will cover many topics from credit requirements for graduation, scheduling for freshman year, transition to high school, and connecting with MCHS.  There will be a time to ask questions as well.  We look forward to seeing parents and students of the future MCHS Class of 2019 on Thursday, February 5th starting at 6:00 p.m. in the MCHS auditorium. 

Brescia University Rep at MCHS

A representative from Brescia University will be in the MCHS cafeteria on Tuesday, February 24 during lunch to meet with interested students.

AP Exam Registration Information

Taking an Advanced Placement exam is an important part of any AP course. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.

Recycle Ink Cartridges to Help MCHS STLP

Do you own a printer and throw away your ink cartridges? Now there is a better solution. Bring your empty ink cartridges to Madison Central High School and help out the STLP Club. By doing this you will get a chance to recycle your ink cartridges and will be doing a well appreciated favor by helping the STLP Club raise money for new robotics kits. It doesn’t cost anything to donate your ink cartridges but will help the STLP immensely. Thank you for helping us out!

Conversation in the Kitchen

Conversation in the Kitchen is a Lexington driven event to promote conversations and relationship enrichment within teenager’s families across Central Kentucky.
This one-night event, on February 28, 2015, at Fasig-Tipton Farm, has several behind-the-scenes activities leading up to the 2015 Conversation in the Kitchen grand finale, hosting 300+ people across Central Kentucky. We will provide an evening of entertainment to include a cooking contest between teenage finalists from Central Kentucky public middle and high schools, whose winning essays qualify them to enter the middle or high school cooking contests.
