Christmas Spirit Week

MCHS Central-in-Action Club (CIA) is sponsoring Christmas Spirit Week December 12-16!!  Join in the fun by participating!!

  • Monday - Santa Day
  • Tuesday - Christmas Hat & Sock Day
  • Wednesday - Favorite Christmas Character Day
  • Thursday - Christmas Pajama Day
  • Friday - Ugly Christmas Sweater Day
MCHS Band Holiday Music Program

MCHS Band will have there holiday music program at the school this Thursday, December 8 at 7:00. Before the show there will be a fundraising table set up where you can order Pampered Chef, Mary Kay and Thirty-One items to be delivered in time for Christmas. We will also have a silent auction basket at this table that will feature items such as an up to $20.00 entree' from Logans and nice surprise items.  Please come and show your support for an award winning band while getting holiday shopping out of the way! The concert is only $5.00 per person, six and under are free. Booths will be set up in the hallway in front of the Auditorium between 3:00 and 7:00. Thank you for supporting MCHS band programs!

December 10th ACT Info

Students who have signed up for the ACT on December 10th--You must bring your admission ticket and a photo ID to be admitted at the door.  If you do not have a photo ID, please see your guidance counselor and we will help you.  You need to arrive at Madison Central in the front office no later than 7:40 am. 


Dual Credit Registration

EKU will be at MCHS on Monday, December 12 to register students for next semester’s dual credit courses from 8:00-11:00 AM in computer LAB A.


The schedule to attend is as follows:

  • 1st period:  Mr. Harrell and Mrs. Gray’s 1st period classes and all EKU NOW 4th period students
  • 2nd Period:  Mr. Harrell’s 6th period and Mrs. Gray’s 5th period classes and any student taking EKU Now classes at EKU that didn’t make it to 1st period.
  • 3rd period:  Mr. Harrell’s and Mrs. Gray’s 3rd period classes and any other EKU NOW students that need to register.
MCHS and BMCMS team up to collect socks for Salvation Army shelter MCHS Junior Kate Nash presents 900 pairs of socks to the Salvation Army.

Madison Central High School and B. Michael Caudill Middle School teamed up to collect socks to donate to the Salvation Army Shelter in Richmond. Junior Kate Nash presented the service project to the MCHS National Honor Society. The NHS extended the initiative to Caudill Middle and together the students were able to collect and donate more than 900 pairs of socks. Both schools intend to continue the project next fall as well.

Governor's Scholars Program 2017

Applications for the Governor's Scholars Program are due by Wednesday, January 4, 2017 by 3:00 PM to Mrs. Palmer in the Guidance Office.  Information may be obtained at Kentucky Governor's Scholars Program website.

MCS Earns Distinguished rating on Unbridled Learning Assessments

Kids are throwing colorful confetti into the air in celebration.Madison County Schools is pleased to announce that the district has earned a classification of “Distinguished” as a district on the 2015-2016 Unbridled Learning Assessments. The district moved up from a “Proficient” designation last year. The “Distinguished” designation means that Madison County Schools is performing among the top 10 percent of districts across the state.

College Reps at MCHS

The following colleges will have representatives at MCHS on the dates listed.  These reps will be available in the cafeteria during lunch to talk to interested students.

Officer Daniel Ellis 5K Run/Walk

The 2nd Annual Officer Daniel Ellis Memorial 5K Run/Walk will be held on SATURDAY, APRIL 22, 2017 at 8:30am at Richmond Centre Mall.  The race will benefit the Daniel Ellis Foundation and online registration will open later this fall.  You'll receive a subsequent email with the online registration details but for now please mark your spring calendar for this special event.  The race date coincides with Katie's 33rd birthday and what would have been Daniel's 35th birthday so we know it will be a special day/event.  We have big plans for 2017!

Governor's School for the Arts

The Governor’s School for the Arts application is now available and the deadline for application is January 15, 2017.  Opportunities are available in the following areas:  Architecture + Design, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, New Media, Visual Art, Vocal Music

Governor's School for Entrepreneurs

The GSE application portal will open before October 1, 2016.  Student applications and recommendations are due before January 4, 2017.  Students may apply through the GSE website. The application process is explained on the website as well.
