Nurse Aide Training School Rep at MC

A representative from the Nurse Aide Training School will be located in the MCHS cafeteria on Thursday, May 8 during lunch to meet with interested students.

MCHS Parent SBDM Elections

Parents who will have students enrolled at Madison Central High School for the 2014-15 school year may run for the Site-Based Decision Making Council.  Declaration to run forms may be picked up in the Main Office Lobby beginning, Wednesday, April 16th.  Parents who intend to run for SBDM must return declaration forms by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25th

MCHS SBDM Parent Elections will be held on Wednesday, April 30th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Voting will be held in the Main Office lobby-foyer of Madison Central.  All eligible parents need to bring ID to cast a ballot that day.

Project Grad Golf Scramble

MCHS c/o 2014 Golf Scramble will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 9:00 AM at Battlefield Golf Course.  4 Man Scramble.  $200/team.

Sign-up deadline is Tuesday, April 22.

Calendars, graduations approved by the Board

The Board of Education voted tonight to finalize the district’s calendar for the 2013-2014 school year. 10 minutes per day will be added to the day beginning Wednesday, April 23. The last day of school for students will be Friday, May 30. Closing day for employees will be Thursday, June 5. Professional Development days are scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, and Monday, May 26.

Tech Professionals: We Need You!


We have a wonderful opportunity to team with a nonprofit hosted by Microsoft to bring computer science courses to our students.   The program, TEALS (Technology, Education and Literacy in Schools) is a grassroots program that recruits, mentors and places passionate high tech professionals into high school classes as part-time teachers.  The high-tech professional brings his or her subject knowledge and joins a Prep classroom teacher (who has teaching and classroom management expertise) in a team-teaching model. TEALS provides training for both parties as well as course outlines based on successful college courses.

A representative from Boyce College will be in the MCHS cafeteria on Monday, April 21st during lunch to meet with interested students.

MCHS Prom 2014

Prom will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 8:00 PM - midnight in the Keen Johnson Ballroom on EKU's campus.  


Tickets are $40 and go on sale Wednesday, April 30 thru Friday May 2, in the Library Media Center ONLY during 4th period. These are the only days/times tickets will be sold.  Tickets will not be sold on Saturday.

After-School Tutoring

NOTICE:  Transportation for Gear Up after-school tutoring will end on Thursday, April 17.  This will be the last day transportation is provided for students who attend tutoring.

Senior Yard Signs

Project Graduation 2014 have 18"x24" Double Sided Yard Signs with the following saying:

"Congratulations MCHS 2014 Graduate  ___________(senior's name)"

Blood Drive at MCHS

HOSA will sponsor a blood drive on Wednesday, April 23rd in the Main Building Gym at MCHS.  Students may obtain permission forms and sign up for appointments in the cafeteria during lunch beginning Monday, April 14th.

End-of-Course Assessments (EOC)

State testing, EOC assessments will occur on the following dates:

  • Monday, April 28 - US History
  • Tuesday, April 29 - Algebra II
  • Wednesday, April 30 - English 2
  • Thursday, May 1 - Biology

Intensive 4-day ACT Prep

Scholarship Available

Please find attached the Madison County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (ASAP) scholarship application. They are offering a $500 scholarship to one graduating senior from each Madison County High School. The deadline for submission is May 8th and should be turned in to Mrs. Thompson in guidance.  Click here for application.
