We are here to serve Kit Carson children and their families!

The FRC is located in the very back of the school in portable #2. The center’s hours of operation are from 8:00-4:00 Monday through Friday, including summer hours. Our telephone number is 624-4524. If assistance is required before or after hours, please leave a message on our confidential voice answering system.

GOAL:
The FRYSC’s are to meet the needs of ALL children and their families who reside in the community or neighborhood served by the school in which the center is located.

MISSION:
The Family Resource Center program mission is to enhance students’ abilities to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnerships that promote:

• Early learning and successful transition into school.
• Academic achievement and well being.
• Graduation and transition into adult life.

FAMILY RESOURCE CENTERS:
• Assistance with full-time child care for children 2 and 3 years old.
• Assistance with after-school childcare ages 4-12.
• Health Services and Referrals to Health Services
• Families in Training
• Support and Training for Child Care Providers
• Family Literacy
• Educational Support
• Parent Enrichment/ Home School Relations
• Emergency/Contingency Assistance

ADVISORY COUNCIL:
The Advisory Council is the Family Resource Center’s Foundation. Our council is made up of 9 members, 3 school staff representatives, 3 community representatives, and 3 parent representatives. The 2005-2006 Advisory Council Members are the following: Martha Cobb, Cynthia Morris, Robin McDaniel, Cynthia Grimes, Gina Lanier, Alicia Gumm, Tammy Ritchison, Beth Richardson, and Tammy Ward. The AC meets in August, October, December, February, April and June.
