As a team of two or three students have the class create newspapers (2 to 3 pages in length) denoting aspects of African American History.The newspaper can:
1. Focus on a certain area of African American History (sports, music, etc.)
2. Focus on an event in African American History (civil rights movement, anti-slavery, etc.)
3. Focus on a time period in African American History (60s, 90s, etc.)Ready, Set, Present
Have your students create a hyperstack or powerpoint presentation depicting the life of a famous Black American. The students should reflect on the personal life of the individual and well as his/her life accomplishments.Mail It
Have your students write a letter to the Postal Commissioner convincing him/her to honor a "certain" Black American on the "new" postage stamp and/or have your students design a "new" Black American postage stamp.A Mark in Time
